Executive Chef Herve Knecht would like to welcome you to Le Bistro D’à Côté.  Herve is a native of Alsace, France.  He started working for his family's Hotel Restaurant on weekends while attending culinary school.  Upon receiving his diploma, he went to work for the Husser Family of a 2 Star Michelin Restaurant "Le Cerf" which lead him to work under the Master Chef Alain Senderens of the "Lucas Carton" in Paris.  Herve then traveled to St. Barthelemy, French West Indies working at the Eden Rock Restaurant and became the Chef of Vincent Adam Restaurant.  

During a visit to New York, he fell in love.  Not only with his future wife but also with the vibrant city and decided to move here.  He became Executive Chef of Grove Restaurant in Manhattan's West Village.  An opportunity came up to open a restaurant in Spain, not too far from the famous El Bulli and so he traveled to Empuriabrava to open his first Restaurant Marina.  However, New York was and will always be Herve's favorite city and after five years in Spain, he returned to New York to open Le Bistro D’à Côté.
